Alexandria, LA – (June 6, 2018) – Vice President of Engineering Adrian Schoonover has retired from RoyOMartin. Adrian joined the organization in 1999, where he oversaw the construction of two oriented strand board (OSB) manufacturing facilities (Oakdale, La. and Corrigan, Tx.), as well as the Chopin, La., plywood and timber-mill expansions.

Adrian’s retirement comes on the heels of the May 30th grand opening of Corrigan OSB, L.L.C., RoyOMartin’s Texas subsidiary. This state-of-the-art facility is the only OSB plant in the world to have been built since the January 2007 completion of RoyOMartin’s Oakdale mill. Adrian and his engineering and construction teams were instrumental to the project’s success.

In recognition of his contributions to RoyOMartin, Adrian was named Strategic Action Leadership Team Member of the Year for 2017. “I love this position because I am able to work in every plant, in every facility, and with almost all the employees in the RoyOMartin family,” he said at the time.

Upon his retirement, Adrian stated, “We are fortunate to have phenomenal support from the Martin family and its shareholders. Our people get to do their best work, and they’re free to think and explore and come up with new ideas. That’s one thing I’m most thankful for about my time with RoyOMartin. It has been my pleasure.”

“The saying ‘He or she built this company’ takes on a whole new meaning with Adrian Schoonover and RoyOMartin. Adrian has led every major construction project over the past 19 years for each of our current operating facilities. He literally ‘built this company.’ RoyOMartin runs world-class operations, and Adrian has been a vital component of our success. His knowledge of the wood-products industry rivals that of any other individual. Through good times and bad, Adrian has embodied RoyOMartin’s values. We all are better people from knowing Adrian and calling him our friend and colleague. We wish God’s blessings on him, wife Debbie, and his family.”
