Location: Corrigan OSB, L.L.C. (Corrigan, Texas)

Primary Responsibilities: The procurement forester is responsible for ensuring a reliable supply of raw materials are procured in a cost-effective manner at an oriented strand board (OSB) manufacturing facility. Other responsibilities include but are not limited to: proactively assisting with the acquisition of delivered pulpwood; assisting with the purchase or sale of mill residual; conducting wood quality checks in the plant and at the scales; performing vendor audits to ensure contract compliance; and providing in-woods guidance to vendors ensuring product quality. Further, the procurement forester must be capable of performing all procurement functions in the procurement manager’s absence.

Job Qualifications: The ideal candidate will hold a bachelor’s degree in forestry. An outstanding safety record in all aspects of previous employment history is crucial. To be considered for this position, the candidate must demonstrate knowledge and/or experience in all forestry activities, including timber-sales administration, timber-sales inspections, merchandising, and acquisition/inventory cruising and mapping. The successful candidate will be proficient in Microsoft Office and ArcGIS.

Behavioral Profile: The successful candidate will be safety conscious, self-motivated, and dependable, demonstrating strong leadership skills and an excellent work ethic. This individual will be required to work independently, as well as part of a team. Developmental training is a condition of successful service in this role. Additionally, he/she must possess strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate with loggers and dealers.
