Primary Responsibilities: Working with the reliability engineer, maintenance supervisors and lead-people, and the planning department, the reliability technician is responsible for collecting machinery health data and reporting readings that are outside of normal trends; troubleshooting problems with rotating equipment, hydraulic systems, and pneumatic systems; minimizing downtime on equipment and improving equipment reliability; using vibration data-collection equipment, infrared thermography, ultrasound, and laser alignment; and providing technical assistance to maintenance personal in solving reliability issues. This position requires travel to multiple company locations.
Job Qualifications: Required skills, experience, and/or education includes an associate degree in engineering or technical-school qualifications or previous reliability experience, especially with Emerson Machinery Health Manager. He/she must have a basic understanding of industrial safety; have experience with a wide variety of industry concepts, such as bearings, gearboxes, motors, pumps, fans, chippers, and hogs; and demonstrate proficiency in determining and setting bearing clearances, information systems (including Microsoft Office), and troubleshooting machine problems. Physical requirements include the ability to lift 40 pounds.
Preferred skills, experience, and/or education includes three or more years of experience in an industrial environment; skill in the use of hand tools, power tools, and data-collection equipment; and experience reading and using maintenance manuals and related drawings.
