Primary Responsibilities: This position sets up workstations with computers and necessary peripheral devices (e.g., routers, printers); sets up user accounts, permissions, and passwords; supports and administers third-party applications; checks computer hardware (e.g., HDD, mouses, keyboards) to ensure functionality; installs and configures appropriate software and functions according to specifications; develops and maintains local networks in ways that optimize performance; ensures security and privacy of networks and computer systems; provides orientation and guidance to users on how to operate new software and computer equipment; organizes and schedules upgrades and maintenance without deterring others from completing their work; performs troubleshooting to diagnose and resolve problems, such as repairing or replacing parts and debugging; maintaining records/logs of repairs and fixes and maintenance schedule; and identifies computer or network equipment shortages and places orders.

Job Qualifications: To be considered for this position, a candidate must possess proven experience as a systems administrator, network administrator, or other relevant position. A degree in computer science, computer engineering, or a related field is preferred, as is certification as an IT technician (e.g., CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified IT Professional). Additionally, candidates must have a thorough knowledge of computer software and hardware, internet security, and data-privacy principles, as well as a variety of internet applications, networks, operating systems. He/she must also be familiar with backup and recovery software and methodologies.
