Primary Responsibilities: This position is responsible for the maintenance, configuration, and reliable operation of computer systems, network servers, and virtualization in business and manufacturing environments. Specifically, the systems administrator I maintains and monitors network and system security; installs and upgrades computer components and software, manages virtual servers, and integrates automation processes; troubleshoots hardware and software errors by running diagnostics, documenting problems and resolutions, prioritizing problems, and assessing impact of issues; creates and maintains documentation on systems and user manuals; performs regular backup operations and implements appropriate processes for data protection, disaster recovery, and failover procedures; stays up-to-date on hardware, software, and systems, helping to implement best practices and procedures; and assists the senior systems administrator and helpdesk with duties, as needed. To effectively perform the duties mentioned above, he/she will work primarily with Windows systems, managing users and computers in Active Directory, Office 365, Exchange, and anti-malware.
Job Qualifications: Required skills, experience, and/or education includes demonstrated interpersonal communication and customer-service skills and experience with Microsoft Operating Systems, Microsoft Exchange Server 2013 or greater, Active Directory, VMware, networking and firewalls, server hardware, and backup and replication servers. Desired skills, experience, and/or education includes experience supporting a high-performing business and/or manufacturing team; a bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field (relevant experience may substitute for the degree requirement on a year-for-year basis); experience with SAN, NAS, and IP phone management; and professional certification in MCSE, CompTIA Server+, A+, Net+, or Security+.
