Pineville, La. – (May 4, 2019) – Martin Sustainable Resources L.L.C. Chairman Jonathan E. Martin served as keynote speaker for Louisiana College’s 164th commencement on May 4, 2019. More than 200 graduates received degrees from the private Baptist institution and received a 2019 Native American $1 coin as a gift from Martin.
In recognition for his service to Louisiana College and the community as a whole, Martin was among three individuals to receive an honorary doctorate at graduation.
Dr. Rick Brewer, president of Louisiana College, stated that Martin “is a role model for college students, as he has earned a college degree, serves a community-minded company, exhibits interest in the spiritual well-being of employees, and demonstrates a compassion for people in need…[he] embodies the kind of heart and mind that we attempt to cultivate in our students through our Vision of Preparing Graduates and Transforming Lives.”
