Chopin, La. – (August 2, 2019) – On August 2, 2019, RoyOMartin-Plywood’s finishing and shipping department marked six years without an OSHA-recordable injury. Vice President of Plywood Jeremy Burford credits the team members’ “hard work and dedication” for this remarkable achievement. In keeping with its record as the safest plywood plant of its kind in North America, the facility has placed increased emphasis on identifying and correcting conditions that could lead to potential severe injury and fatalities, utilizing job safety analyses during upset conditions, and performing process hazard recognition to identify risks.
Finishing, Dryers, and Shipping Manager Luke Briley stated the following, in regard to the team’s accident-free milestone:
“I thank God for pouring His protection over our department and helping us achieve this significant milestone. Although we are celebrating six years safe, we understand that safety is a marathon, and our work towards being injury free is never done. Our finishing and shipping team lives out what our ‘I Believe in Zero’ (IBiZ) safety culture truly means and has proven that we can go home safely to our loved ones each and every day.”
Congratulations to the RoyOMartin-Plywood Finishing and Shipping Department on this safety achievement!
