Dual Enrollment Program Creates Pathway for Industrial Careers

April 16, 2025 – (Alexandria, LA) Our community partners, Central Louisiana Technical Community College (CLTCC) and the Rapides Parish School System, recently announced the creation of a new dual-enrollment initiative for industrial maintenance technicians. The program will utilize an industry-based credential, NCCER Millwright, and equip students with the skills needed to succeed in industrial maintenance technician, millwright, and manufacturing jobs.

“At RoyOMartin, we believe that building strong communities starts with preparing our students for success,” said Roy O. Martin III, Chairman and CEO. “Through our continued partnership with CLTCC, Rapides Parish Schools, and industry partners like Cleco, we’re creating real pathways to high-wage, high-demand careers right here at home. This kind of collaboration is what drives long-term economic growth — and it’s proof that Rapides Parish is, without a doubt, Better Together.”
Dual enrollment is a pathway that allows high school students to enroll in college courses while still in high school and receive both college and high school credits at the same time. The college credits students earn can be used toward both a high school diploma and a college degree.
